Shipping a Vehicle from Canada to the USA
No U.S. tariffs on:
- American, Asian, and German cars in Canada (e.g., Ford, Toyota, Honda, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, Kia, Land Rover).
25% U.S. tariff applies to:
- Vehicles assembled in Canada, such as Dodge and Lexus.
- You can check your VIN—if it starts with 2 or 3, the vehicle was assembled in Canada or Mexico and may be subject to the tariff, especially when entering border states like New York.
Shipping a Vehicle from the USA to Canada
No Canadian tariffs on:
- Automobiles—cars and trucks are excluded from Canada’s counter-tariffs.
25% Canadian tariff applies to:
- Motorcycles assembled in the USA, such as Harley-Davidson, even if they are being shipped to Quebec.
Motorcycles NOT impacted by tariffs:
- Ducati, Kawasaki, Honda, BMW, and other non-U.S. brands.
